Senator Cornyn Throws Cold Water on Governor Rick Perry’s Presidential Aspirations

John Cornyn throws cold water on Governor Perry's Presidential AspirationsI hate to admit it, but I’m with Senator Cornyn on this. Governor Perry is a little late to be thinking of jumping into the 2012 Presidential Campaign.

“The field is already pretty full,” U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told reporters on a conference call on Wednesday when asked about Perry’s chances, the Houston Chronicle reports. “There have been a lot of people working at it for a number of years.”

Besides, Governor Perry has this big Prayer Weekend coming up in August. The Governor has aligned himself with the American Family Association to sponsor a Prayer Weekend as a response to our National crisis. That’s going to take a lot of his time and who knows, maybe a bunch of far right, intolerant, sometimes hateful, evangelicals praying all weekend will solve our problems with the economy, health care, education, energy, infrastructure, global warming, and two or three wars. For whatever reasons, Governor Perry thinks Jesus has a personal interest in and is the answer to our struggles.

Really Governor, Jesus is going to so impressed with the prayers you and your friends that he will intervene on your behalf?
