During the healthcare reform debate and buildup to the 2010 midterm elections, Republicans made much-to-do about the Democrats moving 500 billion dollars in Medicare savings (CBO estimate) to offset the cost of healthcare reform. Now the Republicans want to cut Medicare, actually do away with Medicare as we know it, but are critical of Democrats for telling the story.
