About Senator John Cornyn

It seems that everytime I open my inbox, someone is sending me another report of Senator Cornyn going to bat for some huge corporate interest  instead of Texans. In response to a question about legislation revoking the health insurance industry’s anti-trust exemption, Senator Cornyn’s response was:

“It really is unfortunate, this pattern of attempting to intimidate people who dont fall in line with the administrations policies and this is an example of that,” said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, vice chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.

Big Bad John, the man who declares that he is doing the Lord’s work in Washington, has lost his way. Isn’t is obvious that Health Insurers no longer need an antitrust exemption. No wonder premiums are so high. They don’t have to compete.

The Senator is in the Senate because hard working Americans, hard working Texans, put him there to represent us. Millions of Americans are without health care, hundreds of thousands of Texans are without health care, and Senator Cornyn is mostly concerned with protecting a health insurance monopoly. He’s participating in the exact behavior for which he criticizes the Democrats and the Adminstration. Senator Cornyn, the Republicans, and the health insurance industry are attempting to intimidate us with the threat of higher insurance premiums. Do you oppose the free market Senator Cornyn? Remember, it’s one of the bright ideas our country was founded on. Don’t let health insurers opt-out.

Remember, there are more working Texans than there are Texans sitting on the boards of the corporations Senator Cornyn is representing. Texans have the power to elect Senators, Congressman, and a Governor who will represent us. Let’s do it!
