About Senator John Cornyn

Senator Cornyn and his conservative Cornies approach the health care debate as if Texans are without intelligence; a people who cannot understand basic human suffering inflicted by the lack of health care in this country. Their, the Cornies, opposition to health care is expressed in political sound bites, or extraordinary budget numbers, or the lack of freedom to choose, or in fear tactics like “death panels.” We never hear Senator Cornyn speak clearly on point or articulate his position in a way that demonstrates an intelligent understanding of the facts or in the least, demonstrates human compassion for those without health care and who will never have health care under any Republican proposal.

There are reasons why we need and should pass health care reform. Keith Olberman articulates it nicely in the following video. Take eleven minutes of your time to listen and understand that health care reform is not nearly as scary as Senator Cornyn would like you to believe. It’s fundamental to our humanity as a civilized people.
